Viniculture

Viticulture has been developed in Cyprus for centuries due to the climatic conditions on the island. In particular, vines flourish in warm and dry climates. According to the Great Cyprus Encyclopedia, viticulture on the island is dated back to the prehistoric years.

In the past there used to be many vine cultivators in Lazanias. However, during the 80s, viticulture was abandoned due to urbanization and due to the fact that it was no longer profitable.
