The rustling of the leaves both from the trees and the intense wild vegetation, as well as the fresh air, are enough to create a peaceful tranquil environment for the visitor and especially if one chooses to visit Lazanias during the time when almond trees and other fruit bearing trees are full of flowers.

The village is surrounded by high mountain peaks, with the highest one being that of Machairas and the image completes with deep narrow valleys.

As for nature lovers, the village is ideal for walks along the 3-km-long trail linking Lazanias to the Monastery of Machairas or the 2-km-long trail linking Lazanias to the neighboring Fikardou.

In recent years Lazanias has started attracting several cyclists from various cycling clubs of the island since the area gives them the opportunity to exercise and enjoy themselves in the majestic natural environment of the village.
